Intro

You can get the basics about me and this blog from my profile. Aside from that, let's see. I'm an only child with two parents who I'm close with and extended family that drives me up a wall. I went to a small liberal arts college, where I started in the sciences but ended up in the humanities; this means I can do a titration and talk about Faulkner with approximately equal levels of comfort, but am not particularly employable.

I like traveling, writing, baking, the Food Network, photography, activism, biology, trivia, hats, singing, French, and most animals. I detest closemindedness, bad drivers, cleaning, brainless so-called "comedies," pundits, religious extremists, centipedes, and being bad at things.

Origins

I often find myself wondering when, exactly, everything started. Have I always been dealing with mental illness? Have I always been, to greater or lesser degrees, disabled? At times the wondering borders on obsession, the inability of my anxious mind to let things go making me turn the thought over and over in my mind. Maybe part of me thinks that if I knew when it started, if I could find some moment and say, “This is when it began,” then maybe I could master it. I could understand it, I could control it, I could fix it. Ridiculous, obviously, but a lot what goes on in my head has fairly little to do with logic.
